If you are new to spells and witchcraft we'll start at the beginning: The first thing you need to know is that magic spells are not easy.  You can't just read some incantations, draw a few witchcraft symbols, and add some ingredients to a caldron and expect miracles.  Spells and witchcraft are an art and as such require dedication and devotion to become proficient.

And witchcraft may not make you popular—except with us--and perhaps the lucky recipients of your white magic and witchcraft love spells.   Bringing love into the world is, after all, a very good thing.  Yes?

But some will say your spells and witchcraft are a fiction, nonsense, or worse, that your witchcraft spells are the work of the devil.  Know that neither is true.  We are quite real, as you will see.  And we do not tolerate the Christian devil. 

We are Wicca, by any of a dozen names, the Way of the Craft, Witchcraft.  In particular, the Celtic pantheon of the British Isles, though many believe we follow the much older lineage of the ancient Fertility Goddesses and Pagan Gods that predates Christianity by thousands of years.  No one really knows. 

The truth is, the Old Ways, the Old Religions, are largely a mystery, but one we rediscover daily.  As such, it matters little how witchcraft came to be.  What matters is what is--what may yet be.  

What we do know is that Wicca is a living breathing spirituality--the fifth largest religion in America.   Phyllis Curott, author of Book of Shadows, estimated 5 to 10 million in 1999.

Does that surprise you?  You may not have noticed us before, beyond the Hollywood stereotype.  This is because we do not broadcast our beliefs, we do not proselytize.  Our ceremonies and invocations prayers are private, often hidden--this a reminder of the Burning Times when we practiced spells and witchcraft in secret or risked torture and death as befell as many as nine million of our sister witches.    

This does not mean, as many presume, that our Wiccan spells are secret.  We do not give them out lightly, true, but are gladly shared with fellow seekers.
